How can you mark up items automatically on an invoice?

I do cost plus on a lot of jobs. I need to mark up billable items and can't figure it out on QB

How can you mark up items automatically on an invoice?

I'm here to ensure you'll be able to markup your items automatically without any further delay, mark197.

 

Here's how:

  1. From the Gear icon, choose Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Expenses tab.
  3. From the Bills and Expenses section, enable the Make expenses and items billable.
  4. Put a checkmark on Markup with a default rate of tickbox.
    • Make sure to indicate the percent of the mark-up.  
  5. Click the Save button, then Done

 

After that, you can set up the account where the Markup income will be recorded. I'll guide you how:

  1. From the Account and Settings window, select the Advanced tab.
  2. Click the pencil icon on the Chart of Accounts section.
  3. Select your desired income account from the Markup income account drop-down list.
  4. Click the Save button, then Done.
