How do I add additional filters in a custom report?

Hi,

What am I missing?  I added a filter/account to customize and P&L report, I can only seem to add ONE account.  How do I add multiple other accounts/filters?

Thank you!

I'll help you add multiple accounts, NameUser.

Let's personalize the Profit and Loss report to add the multiple accounts. I'll show you how:

  1. Go to Business overview, then select Reports, or go to Reports.
  2. Locate and open Profit and Loss.
  3. Click Customize.
  4. In the Filter section, click the drop-down arrow beside the Distribution Account.
  5. Place a checkmark on the accounts you want to select.
  6. Click on Run report.
  7. Once done, click on Save customization.

For more details, please see this article: Customize Report in QuickBooks Online.

If the accounts are still missing, let's access your QuickBooks Online account via a private window. This is a great place to determine if this is a browser-related issue. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

Once signed in, save the report again. If it works, let's clear the browser's cache. Doing so helps us improve the program's performance. Otherwise, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.

Additionally, I've added articles that'll help you learn more about what you can do with your reports to get the details needed:

How do I add additional filters in a custom report?

This "solution" did not work for me. I am using the App in classic report view of QBO Advanced, on Win10. I am missing accounts in the filter listing drop down. I have about half of my accounts there and it just stops. Private browser window does nothing to fix this. SO MANY BUGS in this software. It's so frustrating.

I can turn around your experience in customizing reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced, jason.

The effort you exerted in performing the suggested troubleshooting outlined in this thread is much appreciated. This enables us to determine that your experience using the application does not have to do with stored cache or browser mal-functionality.

Since you’re using the App version, I recommend accessing your company by logging in to a browser. You can go to this link: qbo.intuit.com and enter your login credentials. From there, you can pull up your report and start customizing this according to your preferences.

If you’re still experiencing the same problem, I suggest contacting our Technical Support Team to double-check your account state and initiate a further investigation if need be.

Ping me if you have more queries concerning customizing reports or managing your QBO company. I’m always here to help.
