Join nowHi there, @hola2.
It's my pleasure to explain how the invoice status works in QuickBooks Online.
The invoice payment Closed status is the same as Paid. When you save the Received Payment page, the transaction will automatically tag as Closed. It's just a matter of different terms being used for different transaction types.
Let me give you the different invoice statuses and their meaning.
Open - newly created invoice and haven't mailed it yet.
Open (Sent)- You already send the invoice to the customer.
Open (Viewed)- Your customer review the invoice.
Paid - Your customer paid the invoice.
Overdue - The invoice is past due and isn’t paid yet.
Overdue (Viewed)- Your customer opened but didn’t pay the past due invoice.

You can also run the Transaction List by Customer Report. This way, you can review your customer's invoices and payments. Then customize it to show specific data. See the sample screenshot below for your guidance
Additionally, you have an option to personalize your sales form by creating a template. For more details, check out this article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
Notify me if you have follow-up questions about the invoice. I'm always here to help you. Take care always.
My issue is that when its closed it comes out as negative so I'm unable to see how much income I'm getting from my invoices. Is there a way I can switch the status to paid so its able to show the totals?
My issue is that the payments are coming out as negatives so I'm unable to see my total income for the year. Is there anyway I can fix the negatives so the totals are added up all together?
Hello there, @JC139.
I'm delighted to help you with your payments concern in QuickBooks Online (QBO). However, I may need more details to get to the bottom of this. I want to know if you are trying to pull up a report of your invoice payments. You can also send us a screenshot for visual reference.
Any additional information would be highly appreciated.
