How do I Close account

Welcome to the Community. I'd be glad to show you how to close an account, sheargratitude-y.

To make sure I'm on the same page, are you referring to closing a bank account, an account listed in the Chart of Accounts, or the books for the fiscal year? Let me show you how to close a bank account. Here's how:

  1. Click the Banking tab in the left navigation bar.
  2. Choose the account you'd like to remove. Select the small pencil icon in the top right corner of the blue box.
  3. Tap Edit account info.
  4. Place a check in the box beside Disconnect this account on save.
  5. Press Save and Close.

To close an account in the Chart of Accounts, just follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the top right corner.
  2. Click Chart of Accounts.
  3. Choose the account you'd like to close.
  4. Click the drop-down arrow under Action, and then select Delete.
  5. You'll be asked if you're sure. Then, press Yes.

Deleted accounts in the chart will be made inactive and can be restored at any time. Here's an article you can refer to for more details about making an account inactive on your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online. If you need to close your books and prevent changes to past transactions, just follow the steps and details in this article: Close your books in QuickBooks Online.

I'd like to know how you get on after trying the steps, as I want to ensure this is resolved for you. Feel free to reply to this post and I'll get back to you. You have a good one.

Here's how:

  3. In the left menu, pick Billing & Subscription.
  4. Hit Cancel subscription, then Continue.
