Re: How do I enter an SKU into a sales receipt?

Hello there, @jpsorrentino1.

I'd be glad to help you today so you'll be able to add/enter an SKU number successfully.

QuickBooks will not auto-generate the SKU, you'll need to manually enter the SKU's. The SKU number appears when creating sales receipt if the item/s selected was set up with an SKU number. As of now, please ensure to check the item under the Products and Services and add the number from there.

  1. Click on the Gear icon.
  2. Select Product and Services.
  3. Click on Edit, under Action.
  4. Enter the number on the SKU section.
  5. Click on Save and close.

Let me help you on how to enter the SKU in sales receipt, @jpsorrentino1.

First, you'll need to turn on the SKU option  in the Account and Settings. Here are the steps:

  1. Go to the  Gear icon.
  2. Click Account and Settings.
  3. Select Sales then go to the Products and services section.
  4. Put a checkmark on the show Product/Service column on the sales forms box.
  5. Click Save then Done.

Once done,  create your SKU. Here's how.

  1. Go to the Gear Icon.
  2. Click Product and Services.
  3. Click New then choose Service.
  4. Enter the name in the SKU field.
  5. Click Save and Close.

If you have any follow up questions, feel free to post again. Have a great day!

Re: How do I enter an SKU into a sales receipt?

This didn’t work. I am setting up a non profit that gives learning opportunities to seniors taught by volunteers. Each learning opportunity is charged as a Service. I would like to name each class with a SKU to keep track of how many students in each group. When i click on a service for a member, there is  a column for SKU but it won’t let me enter the SKU number. What can I do?
