It's essential to ensure that you select the correct bank account and date so that accurate data appears on your bank register, Wildgoose. Below, I’ll provide some options to help you correctly view your payroll entries.
When running payroll in QuickBooks Online, paychecks are automatically posted to your bank register. You should also be able to view the transaction journal to ensure everything is in order. However, since you mentioned that they don't appear on the bank register, they could be associated with a different bank account. To verify this, I recommend checking the Paycheck list section. This way, you can review and confirm where the funds were withdrawn from the account used for the transaction. Here’s how to do it:
- Go to the Payroll menu. Then, click on the Employees tab.
- Click the Paycheck list link.

- Select each paycheck to view its details
- Check the account listed under the Paid from section.

If you need to alter your company's bank account for payroll, you can do so in Payroll Settings. This will ensure that the paychecks are always directed to the correct bank account. Here's how:
- Click the Gear icon. Then, select Payroll Settings.

- Under Bank Accounts, click the Pencil icon to edit.

- Choose Update, then select Add new bank account.
- Search for your bank name. You'll be prompted to enter your online banking user ID and password. If not, select Enter bank info manually. Enter your routing and account number, then choose Save.
- Click Accept and Submit.
Additionally, QuickBooks suggests matches for you to approve, which will be the exact same dollar amount as the transaction and occur on the same date, or within 90 days before and 20 days after the transaction date. Simply confirm those suggested matches and approve them if they are correct.
