Re: How do I log the dividends payment to myself the owner in QB. I need to get the books and ban...

Hello there, @gregbonomo.

Let me have the pleasure to help share information on how to record dividends payment in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You can simply write a check to yourself and account it the retained earnings or equity account.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Plus (+) icon.
  3. Select Check under Vendors.
  4. Fill in the necessary information.
  5. Go to the Category details section.
  6. Select Retained earnings under the Category column.
  7. Add the amount.
  8. Click on Save and close.

On the other hand, you can also create a journal entry to record the dividends. However, I highly suggest checking with a professional accountant to account this accordingly.

Let me know if you have any other questions about recording dividends payment in QBO. I'm always available to help!
