How do I move a name down the list of names on the list of Costumers?

I normally can drag a costumer's name up or down the list, but QB is now telling me I cannot move a name when the report is on flat "MODE" what does this mean?

How do I move a name down the list of names on the list of Costumers?

Greetings, @Rafael217,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I can share some information on how to modify your Customer's List view.

Based on the information you provided, it looks like you're currently using the Flat View in the Customer Center. You'll need to switch to the Hierarchical View to be able to drag your client names up and down. Let me guide you through the steps:

  1. Go to the Customers menu.
  2. Click Customer Center.
  3. Right-click anywhere on the customer names.
  4. Choose the Hierarchical View.

  5. Hit Yes on the prompt.

That should rectify the issue with your customer list, @Rafael217. Please update me on how it goes. I'll be around if you need further assistance with your concern. Wishing you continued success!

Thanks for joining this thread, @Paige Selden.

Allow me to share some information about reordering your bank list in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

The option to do so is currently not available. Rest assured I’ll let our engineering team know about this feature request on your behalf so they’ll consider adding this in the future.

In the meantime, I suggest checking our Product Updates page to stay current on the latest news and enhancements in QuickBooks.

Let me also add this article that you can use for reference when you’re ready to reconcile your accounts in QBDT. This link can guide you through the process of ensuring your accounts are well accounted for.

Tag me in if there’s anything else you need help managing your bank feeds in QBDT. I’ll be around to assist you. Have a jolly day ahead.

Hello!  I have the same about 'flat' mode to 'hierarchal' mode, but in Chart of Accounts.  I read that it is not currently available in banking...is that the same for Chart of Accounts?

Good day, @nsimon!

The Hierarchical View mode is available in the Chart of Accounts (COA). And I'd be happy to guide you through the steps on how to switch the option in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

  1. In your QBDT account, go to the Lists menu.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. In the window, select the Hierarchical View mode from the Account drop-down.1.PNG

You might want to check out this article to learn how to manage your accounts from your COA: Create, edit, or delete an account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Please know that I'm just a reply away if you need any further assistance in managing your chart of accounts. Wishing you and your business continued success.
