How do I reclass billabel expense income?

Hi there, stillman.

I'm here to help you with reclassifying a billable expense income in QuickBooks Online.

You can modify the class in the invoice itself. I'll show you how:

  1. Pull up the Invoice you want to reclassify.
  2. Change the class in the Class field.
  3. Click Save and close.

Please see attached screenshot:

Surely you're able to reclassify the billable expense after performing the steps.

If you have any other concerns, please leave a comment below.

It'd not the entire invoice amount that I want to reclass. It's just the shipping charges.

I do not want to reclassify the invoice, I just want to reclassify the shipping amount as an expense.

How do I reclass billabel expense income?

Hello there @stillman,

You'll want to create an item for your shipping fee and add it on your invoice. Let me guide you how.

  1. Go to Gear, then Products and Services.
  2. Click New, then Non-inventory.
  3. Enter a Name, then scroll down to the Income account drop-down and choose your expense account.
  4. Snap Save and close.

Once done, add this as another line item on your invoice. This process will help you classify your shipping amount as an expense.

The screenshots below will show you how it looks like to use and include the item to your invoice. Feel free to also visit our page about income and expenses for future reference.

Let me know if there's anything else you need. I'd be glad to help you some more. Thanks for visiting us today and have a great weekend.
