How do I turn off automatic sales tax? I don't want that on my invoices. I provide a service and don't owe sales tax. I don't want that line item on my invoices at all.

Welcome to the Community space, @ironfyreinstalla. Existing user who upgraded to the automated sales tax feature can't be undone because of the coding. The good thing is that QuickBooks Online allows you to modify the setting to turn off the Sales Tax if you're using automated sales tax.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Taxes.
  2. Click Sales Tax
  3. Press Sales tax settings
  4. Tap Turn off sales tax
  5. Pop up message will appear and click Yes

Once done, you can try create an invoice to double-check if the setting has been change.

Note: If you've collected sales tax on one or more items. This means you can't turn off sales tax.
