How do I turn off that annoying sound when snapping picture in the receipt app?

Hello there, @dale27

I appreciate you for performing some troubleshooting steps to resolve the sound in capturing pictures in the receipt app.

At this time, we don't have a setting to turn off the sound in capturing receipt on the mobile app. I'll take note of your request and will update you once we receive a product enhancement update. I know the option will also be useful to other users who are going through the same challenges when capturing receipts.

In the meantime, I recommend you visiting our Blog to learn what new updates are being rolled out, as well as additional references while working with QuickBooks. Here's the link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/blog/

How do I turn off that annoying sound when snapping picture in the receipt app?

It is so annoying that I can't use the app.  It never used to do this.  Can I get a previous version on the app to go back to version that did not make this sound?

Thanks for getting back in here, @dale27.

I can see here how it is convenient not to hear the sound when capturing receipt in the QuickBooks Online app.

However, the option to have the previous version that doesn't create a sound when capturing a receipt is unavailable once the app is updated.

As what @JoesemM has said, we'll take note of your request to help you and other users who have the same concern.

For now, you may consider visiting our QuickBooks blog for new release updates and product enhancement.

I've also added this article that can guide you more with sales receipts in QuickBooks Online: Email receipts and bills.

Please reach out if there's anything else I can do to help you. I'll be happy to help you. Cheers to a safe and productive week ahead.

How do I turn off that annoying sound when snapping picture in the receipt app?

Well this is a known issues as I discovered on my Google search.  Many have complained and nothing has been resolved.  These complaints go back quite some time with no fix, so my confidence is low that QuickBooks is doing anything.

Directing me to your Blog is pointless!

Thanks for keeping an eye on this post, dale27.

We haven't received any updates about the sound when capturing receipts on the app. We'll update this post once our Product Team implements an update about this.

For now, you can take a picture of your bill or receipt using another camera app on your mobile device. Then, email the image (must be a pdf, jpeg, jpg, gif, or png) it to us.

We'll extract it and create a transaction on your Banking page. Check out this page for additional information: Capture and categorize expense receipts and bills in QuickBooks Online.

Don't hesitate to post again if you need anything else with QuickBooks. I'll be right here to help you.

How do I turn off that annoying sound when snapping picture in the receipt app?

This is so annoying, I don't keep up on the receipts so have many to do not only is the sound annoying it is LOUD. This is not acceptable for a professional app. Having to take photos with the phone camera and then emailing them just adds more then you have to verify it. It would be much easier to just go back to excel and enter them manually. I for one will look at other options to Qucikin.
