How do invoice custom fields map when converting from QB Desktop to QBO?

You came into the right place, kelleherk.

I want to make sure your concern with invoice custom fields get's taken care of.

There are some import limitations when converting data from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online and one of these is the invoice custom fields. You can manually add custom fields for your invoices. Let me walk you through the steps below:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Under Your Company, choose Account and Settings.
  3. Select Sales under Accounts and Settings.
  4. Go to the Sales form content section and select the pencil icon in that section.
  5. Enter a Name into each dialogue box beneath the heading Custom fields and select whether you want the field to be internal or public.
  6. Select Save and then Done.
