Hi all, if I started out my business with my personal money, recorded under "shareholder's equity", when it's time I want the business to pay me back, how do I record the transaction? Thanks so much.
I'm delighted to have you here today, @eyevbc. I'll gladly walk you through the process of how you can handle or manage recording taking out money that you've invested in your QuickBooks Online (QBO).
You can start paying it with an actual check. If you’re going to send someone a paper check, follow these steps:
7. Select Save and close.
For more information, please see this article: Record paying back an investment.
To add up, here's an article to help you add more details when you're running reports inside your QBO company: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.
You can also check this page if you want to keep your current report settings: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.
Please don't hesitate to get back to me if you need further assistance with this or have any additional QuickBooks-related concerns. I'll be more than to help you out again. Stay safe, and have a nice day!
Create an equity account called '2023 - Distributions' and assign that account to the check.
