Hello there, @andrew45.
You'll want to create a Bundle to group the items you sell and track in your QuickBooks Online (QBO). Here's how.
In your QBO:

The only issue with bundling items is it doesn’t track your cost of labor and the factory overheads used in manufacturing. Also, as a manufacturer, you need a bill of materials module and for your inventory (raw materials, WIP inventory, and finished goods) levels to decrease/increase depending on production.
You can use QBO to manage your manufacturing, though it requires a lot of focus on your part. I’d recommend checking out the QuickBooks Appstore for Katana Smart Manufacturing Software, a tool that integrates with your QBO accounts so you can bridge the manufacturing gap with:

A bundle is a group of items that you can sell and track in QuickBooks Online. Currently, you can only use this feature to track raw materials and finished goods, as mentioned by @JasroV. This helps you to group items you often sell together into bundles so you can easily add multiple items to transactions.
You can also use a third party application if you want to track separately inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods.
I have also provided these help articles in case you have any concerns about inventory: Inventory and Projects.
Post a reply below if you need further assistance. I'll be here to help you anytime.
QBO doesn't have any assembly feature. You need a 3rd party app to do so.
Otherwise, consider migrating to QBD Premier or Enterprise.
Sorry for the late response, but yeah it works for bakers too. You can track your recipes (or BOMs) and ingredients (as raw materials).
You can also track different inventory types:
Katana actually allows users to track perishable inventory by adding batch numbers to items and tracking expiry dates to products, perfect for a bakery.
