Hello, CollinsNumbersGeek.

The Smart Reporting powered by Fathom provides increased analysis of a company, such as profitability and cash flow. In a society that's increasingly driven by data and metrics, this can help to give businesses an edge.

On August 1st, 2022, Fathom will no longer be included as part of the QuickBooks Online Advanced product. Any companies that started their subscription with Intuit prior to June 1st will be able to access Fathom at no extra cost.

The reason of this is Intuit has introduced the new and improved version of these product. This new tier offers the features you have come to know and love, along with smart reporting, the ability of our customers to track and report on the most important data to manage and grow their business. All of this combined will allow you to work even more efficiently.

Since Fathom complimentary access is going away, you can utilize a third-party app as an alternative. Let me guide you on how to search for an app from within QuickBooks:

  1. Go to the Apps menu or use this website: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/.
  2. Select the Find Apps tab, and then look for the app you want.
  3. Pick the app you wish from the list. You may also read reviews from other customers so you can better select which app fits your needs.

You can locate additional information about this feature at the following link: Upcoming changes to Smart Reporting by Fathom

Let me know if I can be of further assistance regarding about the changes of Fathom. Have a good one.

@TirzahC

RE: Here at Intuit, we certainly did not take this decision lightly and recognize the impact it has on our customers. We believe that, in order to maintain the level of quality as well as support of our products, this change was necessary. You can locate additional information about this feature at the following link: Smart Reporting powered by Fathom FAQs.

So, Intuit is dropping the feature and you provide a link to an article that brags about how cool it is.  Sort of an odd thing to do. And there's nothing there about why Intuit is dropping the feature.

So now going back to non-Smart Reporting, right?  And why is that better?
