You just reached the right spot for help, andofar.

I can guide you in correcting your bank balance in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Here's how to enter an adjusting entry:

  1. Go to Bookkeeping and select Reconcile.
  2. Reconcile your account.
  3. After you've reviewed everything for error, click Start reconciling.
  4. Choose Finish now from the drop-down.
  5. Click Done.

After that, a message will pop-up explaining that your account isn't balanced. Just select the Add adjusting entry link. This will create an expense transaction if the difference is negative, or an income transaction if the difference is positive. It forces the account to balance.
