How to import an invoice from outside QBO? We had one invoice that was paid last year that's prior to starting QBO. How do I import or create a dummy within QBO?

To clarify, we invoiced a client and we received payment prior to QBO.

Hey there, @Powercat.

I'm happy to help you get these invoices into your QuickBooks today!

Please note: Importing invoices when you've already created an Opening Balance in your QBO may create a discrepancy since the opening balance will not include the imported invoice.

With that said, you can import invoices within QBO. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the top right.
  2. Under Tools, click Import Data.
  3. Click Invoices. Your CSV file must include columns for Invoice Number, Customer, Invoice Date, Due Date, and Item Amount. You can download a sample CSV file to use as a guide.

Please let me know if you have follow-up questions on invoicing or anything else within the product. Take care!
