I am missing three months of transactions from October-December. How do I add these months in?

I've tried adding them manually, but QuickBooks won't let me.

What file format can you download from your bank? csv, pdf or else?

Hello there, @GrinGro.

Manually entering these transactions may seem like the simplest option, but QuickBooks may block it due to system restrictions, import issues, or specific settings. Let’s work together to troubleshoot the issue of adding those missing transactions.

Before we proceed, I’d like to clarify a few details to provide the most effective solution. When you attempt to manually enter these transactions, what specifically occurs? Do you encounter an error message, or do the transactions disappear after you save them? If an error message appears, could you share the exact wording or a screenshot?

In the meantime, I'll walk you through the complete steps in manually uploading bank transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear ⚙ icon and click Imports.
  2. Select Import transactions.

  3. Hit Import older transactions for the connected bank account.
  4. Click Browse and locate the file from your bank, typically stored in your Downloads folder.
  5. Choose the file and select Open to start the import.
  6. Review the column headers and data to ensure the Date, Description, and Amount columns in the CSV align with QuickBooks. Other columns can be in any order.
  7. Hit Continue.

Refer to this article for the steps to review what you have imported: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
