I know how to determine your account's usage limit, @userswilliams.

All QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription levels support Chart of Accounts (COA). However, they have list limits.

You can have up to 250 accounts if you're using QBO Simple Start, Essentials or Plus. On the other hand, you can create an unlimited number of accounts if you have QBO Advanced.

To know your usage limits:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top right corner.
  2. Select Account and settings under the Your Company section.
  3. Go to the Usage tab, and then check the Chart of accounts section.
  4. Click Done.

For more information, please head to this link: Learn about usage limits in QBO.

Once done, you're now ready to create or add your account lists. Here's how to get started:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu, and then choose the Chart of Accounts tab.
  2. Click the New button at the top right.
  3. Select the right Account and Detail Type
  4. Fill out other information as you see fit, and then click Save and close.

Here's a handy article you can open for more details: Add an account to your COA in QBO.

Please know that you can always inactivate your accounts to handle them effectively.

I'm still ready to help you manage your COA in QuickBooks. Assistance is just a comment away.
