I am trying to use products & services for my invoices and sales receipts for my non-profit org. They aren't available to select when filling out the invoice. What to do?

This doesn't help, although I solved my own issue. Apparently you have to go to the Gear icon on the invoice and add the Product/Service as an optional column.

 

Way to keep things obtuse QB!!!

Let's check out what happened to your items, cjhertwig.

 

An inactivated item will not show up when creating invoices, sales receipts, or other transactions. Let's see if this happens to them.

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper right hand corner.
  2. Under Lists, select Products and Services.
  3. Click the Filter (Funnel) icon just above item list.
  4. In the Status dropdown, select All.
  5. Click Apply.

Please check if the items in concern have a Make active option in the ACTION column. This means they were inactivated.

 

 

If the items we're not inactivated, we can check if this is triggered by a browser issue.

 

Please log in to QuickBooks in a private window and create sales transactions. If you can select the items, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If it's still the same thing, please try other browsers to isolate the case.

The products and services column is displayed in your invoices and sales receipt by default. It's possible that this column was disabled on your end.

 

There are three ways to add columns on your sales forms.

  1. Via the sales form page
    • Click the Gear Icon on the invoice or sales receipt page. 
  2. Through the Accounts and Settings Window 
  3. Through the Custom Form Styles page
