Join nowHello Johnhuff,
Congratulations on upgrading to the new Quickbooks Pro 2020! After setting up the 2020 program, follow these steps to upgrade the company file.
This will automatically create a backup file for the 2016 company file for reference.
Once the update is finished, you will be able to sign in and see all your information. If you encounter any problem, let me know. Enjoy your day!
All you need is the location of where your current company file is stored but I advise you to create a fresh backup from the 2016 edition prior to proceeding as once converted to 2020 you cannot go back. Then it is as simple as opening the 2020 software with no company open and browse for the location of your existing *.qbw file (you can perform an entire c drive search) click on it and it will open upon conversion to 2020 stats.
