I buy MATERIALS to make products. I listed these COMPONENTS listed as Non-Inventory. At year's end, I can't print inventory count

I need to change a whole lot of items from "non-Inventory" to "inventory" - can I batch change them? Your Chat guy said I CANNOT!!! My problem: We are a MANUFACURING company. We buy many different MATERIALS which we use to make our product. So, I listed all these COMPONENTS as Non-Inventory, since these are nor sellable INVENTORY items. Well, when I got to the end of the year, I could NOT print an inventory count for them, and they could NOT be listed with their values for calculating the end of the year's inventory. Do you have a solution for this problem? Is there a different version of your software that we need???

I'm here to provide what software you need for your manufacturing company, OdedPaz.

You can still use QuickBooks Online (QBDT) to track those materials by using a third-party app. I suggest consulting your accountant to know what application is needed for your business.

If not, you can switch to the desktop (QBDT) version where you can track products you build using inventory parts. Check out this link to choose your plan: QuickBooks Desktop product.

Once you've finished installing QBDT, you can move the QBO data to this new software.

I'm adding this link to learn how to build assembly in QBDT: Combine your inventory items to build finished goods.

Let me know if you need additional information by commenting below. I'm always around to help ensure you're able to set up a manufacturing company in QuickBooks.

@OdedPaz

QBO doesn't provide any assembly feature. You may need a manufacturing app to integrate with your QBO account. Another option, you may switching to QB Desktop Premier or Enterprise edition.
