I completed the secure connnection, yet QBO won't update. Instead, it keeps repeating to have me complete the secure connection.

I completed the secure connnection, yet QBO won't update. Instead, it keeps repeating to have me complete the secure connection.

We can refresh the connection by performing a few troubleshooting steps, wpaderes. 

 

Before doing so, you can log in to your bank's website to see if there are notifications or security that needs action. In addition, there are times that stored cache files within the regular browser causes unexpected behaviors within QuickBooks. It's possible that the history of entering the secure connection when updating your bank was saved that' why it keep on prompting. 

 

We can verify and get rid of that by accessing and updating QuickBooks through a private browser. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to open one:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option +

If you were able to update successfully without re-entering the secure connection details, we can go back to the main browser and clear the cache. You can also use other browsers to also identify if the piled-up cache causes the issue such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox.
