I'd like to export financial statements to excel and not suppress the zero accounts. I have two entities with the same chart of accounts; some are zero. How is this done?

In customize reports there is a setting to either include zero balance accounts or suppress them

sorry I do not have QBO up to find it for you

Thanks, but when I checked the customize feature I only saw a box to check to display or not a zero in a main account. If a subaccount is zero it will not appear when I prepare side by side monthly income statements. Any other thoughts?

Thanks for getting back to us, rgw1.

You'll have to run two reports. First is the Account List report and customize it to show the total balance.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports tab and enter Account List.
  2. Click Customize.
  3. Select the Filter drop-down.
  4. Put a check mark on the Account box and then select All Income/Expense Accounts.
  5. Click Run report.

Second, you'll want to run the Profit and Loss. You'll have the option to include the zero amount.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Reports tab and enter Profit and Loss.
  2. Click the Customize button.
  3. Put a check mark on the Except zero amount field.
  4. Click Run report.
