I had temporarily changed my information to send an email for a friend. Now all my emails have this friends information instead of mine. How do I correct this?

Let me help share information and guide you on how you can update your account information.

 

But before we begin, may I know where did you make the change? If it is your company email you can change the settings. Let me show you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under YOUR COMPANY, select Accounts and Settings.
  3. Select Company.
  4. On the Contact info section, select the Pencil icon.
  5. Enter the email address you wanted to change.
  6. Select Save.
  7. Click Done.

However, if you meaning to change the email address which is the receiver of the copy every time you send any sales transaction, you can change it by following the steps below.

  1. Go back to the Gear icon.
  2. Under YOUR COMPANY, select Accounts and Settings.
  3. Select Sales.
  4. On the Messages section, select the Pencil icon.
  5. Enter the email address you wanted to change.
  6. Select Save.
  7. Click Done.

Thank you for the quick response. The correct information has been changed back, but when emails are received it still is showing the temporary persons information as the sender.

Since you've already changed the email address but the emails received by your customer are still is showing the temporary persons information as the sender, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support. Since we're dealing with private information, It would be best to handle this in a secure environment for verification.

 

Here's how you can reach us:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu at the upper right.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern.
  4. Click Let’s talk.
  5. Choose Get a callback
  6. Type in your contact info.
  7. Select Confirm my call.
