I have a non-inventory product that I can put in the sales price but not the cost of the product.

You can mark the purchasing information under Product and Services so you can put the cost of the item. I can show you how:

1. From the left pane, select Sales.
2. Choose Product and Services.
3. Find the Non-inventory item and click Edit.
4. Mark the box under Purchasing information.
5. Enter the cost in the field.                         
6. Enter the necessary details, then Save and close.
