I'll walk you through the steps on how you can apply different tax rates in one invoice. Looking at the links you've added, our Allstar uses the subtotal item to get each item's sales tax rate. You can also do this in QBO, here's how:

This allows me to add tax amounts separately. However, these figures don't add up as tax under subtotal. Neither will it be reported.
It's a dirty hack which won't work, I'm afraid.

In QuickBooks Online, you can add multiple sales tax rates, including the combined ones. However, we're unable to add more than one tax rate on a single invoice. The feature is only available in our QuickBooks Desktop product.
To help improve your experience in QuickBooks Online, I recommend sending feedback to our Product Development Team. We always update the features in QuickBooks, and this option might be included in the future.
