I have two accounts in QBO, Donations and Income from Donations. Both are being used at this time which is confusing. Can anyone explain how to merge them\ disable one?

"Income from Donations" is used by another app with a QBO integration.

In QuickBooks Online, we can merge similar accounts to combine them into a single account. Take note that once you merge accounts, we're unable to undo this later one. To guide you further, please follow the steps below:
 

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Within the Chart of Accounts tab, find the account you want to keep.
  3. In the Action column, select Edit for the account you are keeping. Then, copy the name.
  4. Click Cancel to return to the Chart of Accounts.
  5. Still, within the Chart of Accounts tab, find the second account that you don't want to use.
  6. Click Edit in the Action column.
  7. Paste in the Name and make sure the Detail Type matches the account with which you're merging.
  8. Hit Save. Then, click Yes to confirm that you want to merge the two accounts.

 

If you only want to make the account inactive, here are the steps to follow:

 

  1. Go to Accounting on the left panel.
  2. In the Chart of Accounts tab, you'll see the small Gear icon at the top of the list.
  3. Tick the Include inactive box.
