I just opened the new Invoice format. I have no button that says "return to classic view" what do I do now?

The new invoice format does not match some of the customize fields that I set up in the "classic view".

Welcome to the Community space, @Steadygirl. I have some information to share with you about the missing old layout button in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Recently, QBO has undergone an update that requires customers to switch from the old invoice experience to the new one. However, only selected users can switch between different invoice styles. Also, if you're using QBO Simple Start, switching back to the old layout is no longer available.

As for your custom field, you can manage it in the new invoice format page.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to the + New icon, then choose Invoice.
  2. Select Manage and click Customization.
  3. Navigate to Custom fields, then click Manage.
  4. Click the Add custom field.
  5. Fill in the Name and tick the boxes where you want to add the custom field.
  6. You can also toggle the button if you want it to show in the printed form.
  7. Hit Save.

Go to invoices now to see the Custom field you've added.

After creating and sending the invoice to your customer, you can now record their payments to QBO.
