I linked bank with payment deposits. Then linked coolfront with paid invoices. QB is doubling my income and marking the invoices as due. Is there a way to fix this?

Let me help you resolve this, David.carlsten@g.

When the deposits are downloaded from your bank, you can match them with the payments or deposits in QuickBooks Online. This is to help avoid duplicate transactions.

Concerning the coolfront invoices, you'll want not to create any invoices in QuickBooks since they'll be linking paid sales forms already. It will also help you avoid any duplicate income.

If there are duplicate deposits added, you can exclude or delete them.

I think the issue is that I started in QB Self Employed and had categorized all of my transactions.  Then I realized Cofront won't link with QBSE so I upgraded to QBO. Unfortunately because everything was already categorized I was unable to sort anything to match it. In addition it looks like linking Coolfront automatically creates invoices in QB. Is there a way I can delete everything and start from scratch?

Thanks for adding details to your concern, david.carlsten@g.

You can purge your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account to restart your company file and start over from scratch. Please know that this process will only take effect if your account aged is less than 60 days. (Only works for QBO Plus and Essentials version).

To do this, you'll need to sign in to QuickBooks as an admin, then follow the steps below to purge the whole file:

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account as an admin.
  2. Change the URL in your browser's address bar.
    For example:

               • Before: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage

               • After: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany

      3. Type YES to confirm the action.

      4. On the Wipe Company Data page, select the correct business type for the first question.

      5. For the second question, select Create an empty chart of accounts.

      6. Click Wipe Data.

Once done, you can now start all over again. However, If your books are older than 60 days, the best option is to cancel your current account and start a new company. Refer to the detailed steps in this help article: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, we have easy-to-access articles, webinars, and video tutorials that will help you in familiarizing the different tasks, features, and functions of QBO. Below are the following:
