I'm using QBO for Mac, v. 4.0.0-209. Timesheet entries default to non-billable even if a billable service/rate is entered. Is this a default setting I can change?

This is different from how the app functioned in previous versions.

Hello there, @jba.

Thank you for posting in the Community. I'd be happy to help share some solutions to get this fix.

To start, let's reset the QuickBooks Online App.

  1. Select Help in the upper right corner
  2. Select Reset App Data.

This will clear the cache and reset the app to the QBO sign-on screen.

After that, let's make sure that time tracking is enabled on your QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. At the top right, click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. On the left pane, select Advanced.
  4. Go to the Time tracking section.
  5. Put a checkmark on the Add Service field to timesheets or Make Single-Time Activity Billable to Customer box.
  6. Select the first day of the work week.
  7. Click Save then Done.

I've added some articles for additional reference:

Once done, please try again creating the timesheet to see if it works. However, if you get the same result, I suggest reaching out to our Phone Support. They can use the screen sharing tool to check what's causing this and help you get this resolved.

Here's how you can reach them:

  1. Go to this link https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. At the top right, select QuickBooks Online.
  3. Select a topic.
  4. Scroll down and click the Get Phone Number or Start a Message button.

That should do it.

Should you have any other questions, don't hesitate to post again here in the Community or leave a comment on this thread. I'll be happy to help you out.
