I need help with new invoice layout. It is now sending invoices to my customers with accounting codes. How do I remove this from customer view?

If you're referring the accountant codes to the invoice number, I can guide you on how to remove them. Follow the steps below:

1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online.
2. Click the + New button then Invoice.
3. From there, click the Manage icon then select Customization.
4. Toggle off the Invoice No.
5. Once done, hit Save and Close.

Also, you can utilize your invoices by creating a customized template that you can make to remove the accountant codes. However, if you have already a template that has no accountant codes then you can use that.

To create one here's how:

1. On your homepage, click on + New then Invoice.
2. From there, click the Manage icon then select Design.
3. Choose the Invoice template that you recently made that has no accountant codes.
4. If it doesn't have an Invoice template, you can tap on Manage.
5. Select on New Style, then choose Invoice.
6. From there you can do whatever you want by customizing that template.

And this removes the invoice from the modern view.  So what was the purpose?   You cannot view the email or customer views in "other templates".  It makes no sense.

I can certainly understand how an ability to change an invoice's design to standard instead of modern and still be able to see previews for your templates could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.
 

You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.
 

Here's how:

1. Use the Gear icon, then go to Feedback.
2. Enter your suggestion(s) in the Have feedback? window.
3. If necessary, attach a file with your Camera icon.
4. Select Next.

But I can't keep the modern view and not show accounting codes.  And how is modern different from standard?

The difference between modern and standard templates on invoices in QuickBooks Online is they have a different appearance.

Modern templates can be customized within the invoice page by clicking Customization and you can have the PDF view to check the template. In comparison, the Standard template can be changed through the Custom form style. When reviewing the form, you'll need to select Print and Download first because this template is old.
