I need responses from Estimates in QB to be sent to one email address and Invoices sent via QB to be sent to another email address. Can we have QB-O configured this way?

Hi very-moojay,

Are you looking for a way to get the email responses from your customers to be sent in QuickBooks?

If so, there's currently no option to do it. However, QuickBooks Online uses the customer-facing email set up in your company settings when a customer sends an email. All customers' replies will be sent to the company's email address.

I can certainly send this as a product suggestions to our developers. We will review it to see if they can add this in our future updates.

Maybe I wasn't clear.

When customers respond to estimates, they get sent to a specific email address ([email address removed]). When customers respond to the invoices sent to them, they end up in the same email address ([email address removed]).

Responses to estimates should be going to [email address removed] and inquiries about sent invoices should be going to [email address removed].

Please let me know if you need any clarifications.

Thanks.

Thanks for the clarification, very-moojay.

We can only add one email address in the Customer-facing email setup. All customer replies (Estimates, Invoices, Sales Receipts) will be sent into this email.

For now, I can send feedback to our product engineers about your request.

Now how did QBO engineers think that limiting all customer facing email to one email account would work? I'm not sure how to work around this setup. How long would it take for this feature to get added?

Currently, there's no specific turn around time on when this will be added, @very-moojay.

I can see how this feature beneficial to you and your business. I’d be glad to personally share these suggestions to our Product Engineers for consideration in future updates.

While that feature isn’t currently in our development roadmap, we are working on big improvements that will be helpful for the majority of our customers. You can visit our QuickBooks Online Blog to know more about our latest happenings. From there, you’ll get the recent news, features, and updates about QBO and what our Product Team is working on.

Meanwhile, it is worth to note that you can view and reply to your customer's messages from the Activities section of the customer's invoice.

Here's how:

  1. Open the original invoice you created in QuickBooks.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the transaction.
  3. On the Activities section, you're able to view all activities related to the invoice.
  4. To send a message or reply, enter you response on the box below Activities and click Send.

Here's a sample illustration on how it looks like:
