I need to add my new vehicle. QB is overriding previous data w/ the new vehicle and doesn't keep the history. I cannot add a vehicle w/o deleting the old one. Help!

When I try to add my new vehicle, I am essentially overriding the old vehicle's info.  I don't understand how one cannot have more than 1 vehicle in their account.

I'm here to help and provide clarification about adding a new vehicle in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), KSallee.

The option to track multiple vehicles at the same time in QBSE is unavailable. We’re continuously enhancing the product’s features to cater to our customers’ needs. This allows them to track mileage and maximize tax deductions at the end of the year (by filing taxes in Turbo Tax).

Thus, you can let our engineers know that adding this functionality is beneficial for your business. Simply head to the Gear icon to select Intuit Account and then click Feedback to submit.

As a workaround, you can modify the vehicle's details to record the miles for the new one. Click here for detailed instructions and proceed directly to the Edit your vehicle info section.

You can also utilize these articles to add the mileage deductions to the company:

From there, you'll learn how to categorize the expenses and record the miles, to name a few. If you run into any bumps on your work trips, the following resources contain solutions on how to resolve them:

Keep in touch if you have questions about recording your mileage or other QBSE-related concerns. I’ll get back to answer them for you. Have a good one.

Doing it this way edits my history to look like I only had one vehicle and it never changed. If I cannot have accurate history for each vehicle (even if one is inactive), is totally pointless for QB to even ADD vehicle info at all.  Honestly, what would even be the point of QB incorporating vehicle info?
