I can see the importance of recording a Budget report for FY2018, @shular-r.

The purpose of the Budgeting feature in the program is to create a report to plan for your business' sales and expenses. So, you won't be able to create a budget report for the past periods.

You may want to create a budget outside the program. This feature is available to all QuickBooks Online Advance users. For more details, check out this link: Create and import budgets.

If you have other questions, please let us know.

I need to create a budget for FY2018 but fiscal year dropdown only shows FY2019 - FY2025. How do I resolve this?

I am currently taking a QB course for my Accounting degree. I am currently in Chapter 8 of QuickBooks for Accounting Online. All of the transactions we have been doing are 2018. Chapter 8 is on budgeting and bank reconciliation. Case 01 of Chapter 8, Step 3 is to create a new budget. It specifically says to be sure to use FY 2018 (Jan 2018-Dec. 2018). This is not an option. Please advise. Thank you.

Good day, April Lynn,

If you encounter an error while doing the ProAdvisor training, I recommend contacting our Intuit Accountant Support. They will be able to help you in going through the training smoothly.

Check out this link to give you guidelines about QuickBooks Online Certification: QuickBooks Online Certification Training Guide.

Furthermore, you can read this article for more details about ProAdvisor certification information.

So the way I got the totals to match the book figures, I left the FY as 2019 when creating the budget, and then when going to report, on the BudgetOverview report I put 1/1/2019-1/31/2019 which made sense because it only looks at the budget. For the BudgetvsActuals I put 1/1/2018-1/31/2019 which gave me the same totals as the books did but the only thing is that it shows 2018- 2019 instead of just 2018. I hope this made sense and helps.
