I appreciate the suggestion, but I am really hoping that QB can accomplish this without me needing to spend more money and start integrating other software.

Converting your raw materials inventory into finished goods is only available in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Feel free to read through this article for more details: Combine your inventory items to build finished goods.
Since you're using the online version of QuickBooks, below are the four types of products/services you can setup:

You can look for a manufacturing app as mentioned by @Fiat Lux - ASIA in this thread. Otherwise, you may switch over to QBDT so you can use the assembly feature without speeding more money. Please refer to the Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop page for instructions and detailed steps on how to migrate your information.

I use QBO and need to convert my raw materials inventory into finished goods inventory as I manufacture them. Each metal bar is purchased and then converted into 50 parts
You need QuickBooks Desktop Premier version (or Enterprise version) to convert raw materials into finished good inventory as you want. QBO is not designed for such a WIP process. So, I would waste my money paying for the 3rd-party app. It's expensive and will not work efficiently in most cases.
Can QBDT be used outside US?
Where is your company located?
You can use QB Desktop (Pro/Premier/Enterprise) US version in your country for sure. You have to call their sales team in the US to purchase the license. Another option, you can purchase it through a select partner without a credit card.
We operate in the Philippines and is currently using QBO. I am currently trying to purchase QBDT in order to be able to use the raw materials inventory to finish goods function but the only option here is for US only.
You can use the manufacture app to integrate with QBO.

Intuit only offers QB Desktop US and Canadian version.
You will need to purchase a 3rd party service to convert data from QB Online Global version to QB Desktop US version.

As mentioned by Fiat Lux - ASIA, Intuit currently offers only the US and Canadian versions of QuickBooks Desktop.
QuickBooks Desktop is designed to support various currencies and tax systems, allowing it to be used outside the US. However, there may be differences in features and functionalities based on specific country requirements. It's important to verify the compatibility of QuickBooks Desktop with the local regulations and tax laws of the country where it will be used.
