I used to have a "+" sign up in the menu bar for adding bills, etc. It is no longer there. How do I get it back on the menu bar?

There was a new update in QuickBooks Online @joyvalley.

 

One of them was moving the Plus icon to the top-right corner of the screen. There are also new features being added in QuickBooks Online to make your work more efficient.

 

You can simply refresh the page or sign out then sign back in to apply the changes.

It's so stupid that they train users and Accountants in the ProAdvisor training about the "QuickCreate" button.

It's now the "New" button at the top of the left navigation.

I abruptly found this out in the first 2 minutes of training a new client! It sure made it look like I didn't know what the hell l I was doing and was supposed to be at a time when I was building the client's confidence in our practice and in their own abilities working in QBO. Hope this is helpful

I am having this same issue two years after this post. I do NOT have a plus icon at the top right of my screen. I am so frustrated w/this software!

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to show the +New button in your account, FRUSTRATED WITH THIS SOFTWARE. 

 

The plus icon moved to the left side and is now the +New button and it serves the same role as the (+) icon did. However, should you not see the +New option, let's try signing in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues. Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

 

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. The overtime collection of data can create corruption, however, removing this should fix the issue. We can also use supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.
