Join nowHello, weberlynn5.
Welcome to the Community. I'd be glad to offer my assistance with creating a new sub-account in QuickBooks Online.
There are just a few steps to add a new sub-account to your Chart of Accounts. Here's how:
1. Click Accounting from the left navigation menu.
2. Make sure Chart of Accounts is selected at the top of the page.
3. Select the green New button in the top right corner.
4. Enter all necessary information, and then check the box labeled "Is sub-account" and choose the parent account.
5. Click Save and Close.
I've got an article for you that explains using sub-accounts in even more detail. You can check it out here: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Reports-and-accounting/How-do-I-create-a-new-account-or-suba....
I wish you and your business continued success. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions. Take care.
It's not working anymore.
Let's work together and get this problem handled, @esarti.
May I ask if you encounter any error messages when trying to a new category in the Chart of Accounts? I appreciate any extra information you can give and it will help us isolate the issue and provide the best solution.

The Business view is meant to help newcomers in QuickBooks Online to get started on the key workflows that matter most to small businesses. While Accountant view uses standard accounting language and you have accounting experience or want complete control over features.
To switch views, follow the steps below:
You can also update it through the Accounts and Settings:
Please check this article for more information: Switch between Business and Accountant view in QuickBooks Online.
Also, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed pages, thus causing some unusual responses.
Let's log in to your account using a private browser. This mode will not save any history, making it a great place to identify browser issues.
You may use these shortcut keys that I've listed below:
If it works successfully, you'd want to clear your regular browser's cache to prevent any unexpected behavior. Also, you can use other compatible browsers in QBO.
I've also added these resources to help you manage the chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online:
Should you need any additional assistance while managing your bank accounts or transactions, you can leave a comment below. I'll be sure to get back to you. Take good care, @esarti.
