If I have asked for a downpayment on a time and materials job, how can I show that downpayment on an invoice and subtract it from what is owed?

Good morning, @sozayday, and happy Friday! I'm glad to see you here in the Community. I'd love to help you record that downpayment on your invoice. Let me walk you through those steps.

  1. While logged into your account, go to the Invoicing tab on the left menu.
  2. Then, click on Invoices up top.
  3. Find the invoice and click on Receive Payment on the right side.
  4. Enter in the amount of that downpayment.
  5. On the bottom right, click the arrow next to "Save and New" and select either "Save and Send" or "Save and Close."

"Save and Send" will email your customer a reminder of the remaining balance, or you can choose "Save and Close" to exit out.

If there is anything else I can help you with, feel free to reply to this post and I'll happily answer. :)
