If I missed entering a $ amount on a new service description prior to hitting save, how do I go back in and edit that to add the dollar amount?

If you're referring to the description field on a service item, you can edit this to add a dollar amount. I’ll show you how to do it.

1. Go to the Sales menu.
2. Choose Products and Services.
3. Select the product or service you want to change.
4. Click Edit in the Action column.
5. On the Description field, add the dollar amount and make your changes.
6. Select Save and close when you're done.

However, if you're trying to add a dollar amount in the Sales price/rate field, you don't have to. QuickBooks will automatically read the entered amount as a dollar.
