I can help you import bank transactions using a CSV file in QuickBooks Sel-Employed (QBSE).
You usually get an error when uploading data when there's an issue with the mapping and formatting. I recommend checking if the format of your file is one of the accepted formats when importing transactions. These are the following:
- Make sure the file is on a CSV (comma-separated values) format.
- Check if the file has blank lines, if it does delete them.
- Please make sure to select the column header labels (from the dropdowns) that match the column header labels in your CSV file.
- Your CSV file should contain the following information: Date, Description and Amount.
Once verified, import bank transactions again. Let me show you how.
- Open QBSE in a web browser. Then, click the Gear icon at the top.
- Select Imports.
- Choose the account you want to add the transactions into, then click Import older transactions under Action.
- Click Browse and find the file you downloaded from your bank.
- Select the file and click Open to start the import.
- Review the column headers and data.
- Click Continue to complete the import.
