If my CSV file is not uploading from my bank, what is another fast and efficient way to transfer my account info?

The error in loading reads:
"Error Importing: Darn. File upload failed. (Probably our fault). Please give it another try. If you see this message again, you might need to contact us"

Use the trial version for csv2qbo converter tool to isolate the issue.

Hello there, @tqmills22.

I can help you import bank transactions using a CSV file in QuickBooks Sel-Employed (QBSE).

You usually get an error when uploading data when there's an issue with the mapping and formatting. I recommend checking if the format of your file is one of the accepted formats when importing transactions. These are the following:

  • Make sure the file is on a CSV (comma-separated values) format.
  • Check if the file has blank lines, if it does delete them.
  • Please make sure to select the column header labels (from the dropdowns) that match the column header labels in your CSV file.
  • Your CSV file should contain the following information: DateDescription and Amount.

Once verified, import bank transactions again. Let me show you how.

  1. Open QBSE in a web browser. Then, click the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Imports.
  3. Choose the account you want to add the transactions into, then click Import older transactions under Action.
  4. Click Browse and find the file you downloaded from your bank.
  5. Select the file and click Open to start the import.
  6. Review the column headers and data.
  7. Click Continue to complete the import.

For more details on the process, see this article: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Once everything is back in order, you can start categorizing transactions you downloaded from your bank.

Keep me posted on how it goes. I want to ensure that you'd able to import your transactions. Have a great day!
