If names is not appearing in "choose a payee" and I previously wrote checks, how can I fix that?

I have written checks previously for payees that is already in our quickbooks. But when I go into "choose payee" the names are not appearing.

I can help you sort this out, @brina7blessed-ya.

Let's start by accessing your account using a private browser or an incognito browser. Oftentimes, stored data can be corrupted and affected its performance when generating the Profit and Loss report. You can use either keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once logged in, you can try creating a check again.

  1. Go to the New icon (+).
  2. Choose Check.
  3. Select the name of the Payee.
  4. Fill in the complete Check details.
  5. Click Print Check at the bottom of the page.
  6. Choose the check from the Print Checks page.
  7. Hit Preview and Print.
  8. Click Print.2.JPG

The payee's name tells your bank who receives the money and where to send the check. Also, it streamlines the tracking and reconciliation process in QuickBooks. You can use this article for more detailed steps: How to write checks.

If it works, you'd want to clear the cache of your regular browser to start on a clean slate. This process helps the browser to fetch the latest version of the webpage and a faster browsing experience. Also, you can use a supported, up-to-date browser to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.
