IIF File - Lot Number field name

I am creating an IIF file to import Bills. In QB Enterprise V21, I have activated the Lot Number for Advanced Inventory. I want to enter the lot numbers in the IIF File. What is the column name to use for Lot Number in the IIF File Header?

In the attached file, column K2, LOTNUMBER doesn't work. What should I use? I get this error message:

; [ERROR] LOTNUMBER is not a valid column name for record BILLSPL. [15101]

Instead of going on and on and sending the OP off on a mission that will end in futility, you could just say there is no such field.

Hi there, sarwar-ny.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. I'll share some information about importing .IIF files in QuickBooks Desktop and how it works.

When importing an .IIF file in QuickBooks Desktop, you'll need to make sure that the formats are accurate. An incorrect mapping of the format can be the reason that you'll receive an unexpected error message. That said, I suggest downloading the sample.IIF file in the article I'm including below and check to make sure your format is correct as the file name corresponds with the transaction type you're importing.

However, if the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our Technical Support team. This way they can have a formal investigation to determine what's preventing you to import the IIF file. You can also request a screen-sharing session so they can check your setup. To do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Click the Help menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Enter your brief description of your concern. Example: Cannot import LOT NUMBER file using IIF files in QuickBooks Desktop.
  4. Select Continue.
  5. Choose either Start messaging or Get a callback.

Additionally, reference this article if you need guidance in importing and exporting data in QuickBooks Desktop: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop.

Then, to find articles you can bookmark for future use, check out our QuickBooks Desktop help articles site. Simply, enter a keyword of your concern on the search box or select any of the categories displayed.

Should you need any assistance with importing your IIF files in QuickBooks, please leave a reply below. I'm available here to help at any time. Take care always.

Unfortunately there is no provision for the Lot Number field in the IIF file specification.

So, unfortunately, there isn't a way to import it.

Thank you @BigRedConsulting  for clarifying this! I've been on chat / tele-calls for hours explaining this requirement - all I was getting is the same stuff that @ChristieAnn   put up here. One would expect with the software version updates, Intuit would update all the ancillary support utilities. The IIF kit that one can download from the QB link goes back to QBE 2007 version.

Thank you @BigRedConsulting  once again from saving me time from chasing another wild goose!!
