When customizing a report in QuickBooks Online, some filters are only available on certain reports. However, the Profit and Loss statement has the option to click the Filter drop-down arrow so you select which customers, distribution accounts, vendors, accounts, and products appear on the report.
Since the filter option is not showing up, the piled up cache history may be the reason why you're unable to see the filter option. I suggest logging in to your QuickBooks using a private browser. Then, try to customize your report from there. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue and ensure private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.
Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using:
- For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
- For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
- For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.
If it works in incognito, you'll need to clear the cache of your regular browser. This clears the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as an alternative.
