Importing P&L into Quickbooks

I have 2019 Desktop Pro.  I have a multi-unit retail concept that has 3 store locations.  Although owned by one legal entity, I have keep separate books for each location.  I would like to import each location financial information into my master quickbooks so I can then consolidate the financial information.  Question 1:  Can I import the P&Ls/Balance Sheets for each store location to my master QBs and if so; Question 2:  Can I assign a classification code to each store's information when I import it?

Importing P&L into Quickbooks

Hello, @SEVANS4.

Let me share with you some information about importing a file and assigning a classification code in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

I agree with Fiat Lux - ASIA that you can utilize a migration tool in importing P&L reports for each of your store locations to your master account.

In regards to your second question, yes, you can assign a classification code for each of your store's information in the mapping section. Make sure that the information is supported in your file when mapping it.

Mapping for QuickBooks Desktop can be tricky. Before that, it's best to create a backup copy of your company file. After that, I'd recommend downloading the QuickBooks Import Excel and CSV toolkit. This contains sample formats for each file type. You'll have to follow the format so QuickBooks can recognize what data you're trying to import.

Please check these articles about the different types of files store in QBDT and the list of data you can import/export

I'll always be here if you need more help with importing. Keep safe.
