Hi there, @chris-dziubina.

I like to ensure that you'll be to email invoices successfully. The error message that you received usually occurs on a Yahoo email address. This can be fixed by updating QuickBooks to the latest release and making sure that the settings on the webmail preference are correct.

Let's start with updating your QuickBooks, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on Help at the top menu bar.
  2. Select Update QuickBooks.
  3. Go to the Update Now tab.
  4. Hit Get Updates to start the download.
  5. When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.
  6. Accept the option to install the new release, if prompted.

Once done, verify the webmail preferences setting:

  1. Hit on QuickBooks Edit menu at the top, click on Preferences.
  2. On the left pane, choose Send Forms.
  3. Under My Preferences, select the email account you are using, then select Edit.
  4. In the Edit Email Info screen go to the SMTP Server Details section and set the server name and port to your email provider settings. Refer to Set up your email service in QuickBooks Desktop for a list of SMTP Server and Ports.
  5. Press on OK.

I've outline these steps through the snips below:

I'm also including here the link that you can scan through for more details about these troubleshooting steps: Fix Error: Could not connect to the email server.

If there's anything else that you need assistance with, let me know. I'll be around to help you out. Have a wonderful day!

Good job for doing the steps my colleague provided, Chris-dziubina. I've checked our records and saw an on-going investigation

Users are unable to send emails using Yahoo. We have a few steps that you'll have to try to fix the error:

  1. Go to Edit.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Go to the Send Forms tab, then My Preferences.
  4. Select the email provider, then click Edit.
  5. Under Email Provider, select Others.
  6. In the Server name field, enter "smtp.mail.yahoo.com".
  7. In the Port field, use "465 or 58".
  8. Tick the SSL/TLS box.
  9. Click OK

Please refer to my screenshot below.

Although, if you're still encountering the same issue after trying the workaround, you'll want to email the invoices manually to your customers.

We're taking notes of the affected users. I suggest reaching out to our customer care support, so you'll be added to the list. Here's how:

  1. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Enter "Unable to email invoices" in the description field, then click Continue.
  4. Select either Message an Agent or Talk to a Specialist

Get in touch with us if you have other concerns. We're just here for you.
