Invoice report - date filter range not working correctly

trying to do a simple report to give a client a report for invoices by project for the year.  No matter what I try - even adjusting templates from the report templates, and using the date range for this year, several invoices from last year show up.  tried rebuilding data, no luck.  Using qb desktop pro 2020

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.6.0.5) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). 
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the installation finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

 

Note: If you can't find the icon, search in Windows for QuickBooks Tool Hub and select the program.

 

Once fixed, you can personalize your report to show the details that matter to you the most.

thanks for the follow up.  I thought I responded to this yesterday, but obviously don't see it so will try again.  At this point, don't remember the exact steps, but I downloaded and tried the fix.  The fist button was some sort of quick fix, did not work.  Tried again with the 2nd button, said it could not fix the file and offered to install a backup which was coincidentally done that morning.  So installed it, tried the hub again.  No luck so tried one more time, checking the two checkboxes as i recall to force some sort of repair.  This time it went through.  However, no fix to my invoice report.  It still shows invoices from years outside the date range given.  Tried a simple year to date filter, no luck.
