Hi there, anthonyivancich.
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. Let me discuss the difference between QuickBooks Commerce and the Online version. Then, ensure you can sync the two software smoothly.
QuickBooks Commerce helps you track your inventory data. While QuickBooks Online has a feature called Commerce Accounting feature and can also record any inventory transactions.
Yes, there's a way to connect QB Commerce to a QBO. However, QuickBooks Commerce does not integrate with QuickBooks Online’s Inventory Management. That said, if a variant is created in QuickBooks Online, it will not sync back to QuickBooks Commerce, including the stock level assigned to it. This is because they are two different programs with distinct features when it comes to taking inventory.
If you still wish to connect QB Commerce to a QBO, please follow the steps below.
Lastly, you may refer to this article to see various details on how QB Commerce works with QBO and how they can benefit your business: Frequently asked questions about QuickBooks Commerce and QuickBooks Online.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns with integrating the two software mentioned above. I'll be more than happy to help. Have a wonderful day, anthonyivancich.
Intuit is no longer selling QuickBooks Commerce in favor of Accounting for e-Commerce. I believe you are not using QBO US version, correct? You may have 2 options:
1. Switch to QBO US version and you may purchase a 3rd party conversion service.
2. Keep using your QBO version and switch to a 3rd party inventory management app.
