Is there way to set my QBP online account to always send a verification text when I sign in? Suddenly this feature is not happening for me anymore.

Hi there, fulanamengana.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll share some details to ensure you're able to receive a verification text when you log in to your QuickBooks account.

When you set up two-step verification for your QuickBooks account, you'll get a verification text every time you sign in to your account. Since you're not receiving the code, it could be the phone number that was entered in your Intuit account is incorrect. That's why you're unable to receive any verification code. To verify this, I suggest going to the  Sign In & Security section and check the mobile number being registered.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your Intuit account.
  2. Choose Sign In & Security from the left menu.
  3. Make sure your phone number is correct under the Phone section.

In case this isn't right, you have the option to change it by clicking the Verify link. Then, change it and update your phone number. Enter your Password in the field and click Save when done.

If the issue persists, it's possible that the Two-step verification is turned Off. If that's the case, the next time you sign in to your QBO account it won't allow you to verify your credentials. I reccomend making sure that this feature/option is always Enable so you're able to receive a specific code. Please follow the steps below.

  1. From the Gear icon at the upper-right, select Intuit Account under the Profile section.
  2. Go to the Sign In & Security menu.
  3. Under the Two-step verification, select Turn on.
  4. Enter the code and hit Continue.

To see additional information, you can click his article: Turn on or turn off two-step verification.

If the problem continues to occur, I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. Then, confirm from there if you already receive a verification text. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. You can check this article to see the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as alternatives.

How do I delete this post entirely? Somehow you have my email is my name. I want that taken down as soon as possible. Thanks for the answer. I do think it was a browser issue. Seemed like two-step notification had been turned off for some reason.

Can you please edit and remove the greeting? That would be enough I think.

Thanks for getting back to us, fulanamengana.

I'm glad that my colleague was able to help you in turning off the two-step verification. Please know that I've already informed her about your request to edit the greetings of her post. You can scroll up to the beginning of the thread to view the revision.
