Job (or Project) Cost Reports in QB Online

Newly transitioned from desktop Premier for Contractors to Online Advanced.  Looking for job/project cost reports in Online version ... Estimates vs. Actuals Report and Unpaid Bills by Job.  Do these exist in Online or can I create them?  If so, how?  A little lost here ...

Job (or Project) Cost Reports in QB Online

Yes, it does exist, @jgstripp.

I can definitely guide you on accessing these reports in QuickBooks Online.

QBO includes a budget feature. Budgets can be created company-wide, by class and also by customer. Jobs or projects are setup as sub-customers in the system.

To track job/project cost in Online version, you’ll need to run Budget vs. Actuals. This is the equivalent report for Estimates vs. Actuals in QuickBooks Desktop. For Unpaid Bills by Job, you can run Transaction List by Customer or Unpaid Bills report. Let me outline the steps for you:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Enter/select Budget vs. Actuals.
  3. Click Customize.
  4. Filter the date period and select other details you need to show on the report page.
  5. Press Run report.

You can follow the same process in running the Transaction List by Customer/Unpaid Bills reports to show the open bills.

You can use this guide when customizing reports in QBO. This way, you can focus on the details that matter the most to you. It includes screenshots for quick navigation.
